A business development manager for roofing is a professional who is responsible for generating new business opportunities and managing existing client relationships for a roofing company. Some of the main duties of a business development manager for roofing are:
Identifying and contacting potential customers and decision-makers
Developing and presenting proposals and quotations for roofing projects
Negotiating contracts and closing deals
Maintaining and developing long-term relationships with clients
Providing after-sales support and customer service
Monitoring market trends and competitor activities
Reporting on sales performance and targets
To work as a business development manager for roofing, you need to have:
A degree or equivalent qualification in business, marketing, construction or a related field (preferred)
Experience in sales, business development or account management, preferably in the roofing or construction industry
Previous experience of office work / management.
Knowledge of roofing products, services and standards (preferred)
Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
The role also involves taking over the director’s role and controlling the office operations. This requires:
Strong leadership, management and organisational skills
Ability to oversee and coordinate multiple projects and teams
Ability to develop and implement strategic plans and budgets
Ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
